Finn the Giant

‘Finn the Giant’ is a four page double spread adult picture book illustration series. The project is based on the Swedish folktale about the building of Lund Cathedral in the 12th century. The building of the cathedral was driven by a bet placed by a giant and priest.

Influenced by the Japanese movement Heta-uma (bad-good), this project was created by embracing the imperfections and fluidity of illustrating without worrying about a perfect outcome. This project explores texture based and ink collage illustrations while exaggerating form and shape.
